10 Fun Facts about Clarka:

  1. My name is a common question & a great conversation starter…  I was named after my father, Clark, as you might assume.  My full name is actually Courtney Clarke Wickliffe (the “e” was added to make it more feminine), thus Clarka isn’t actually my name at all.  After having trouble during her pregnancy with me, my mother decided to name her last child after my father because he was very supportive & attentive to her during the complications.  I was called “Clarke” until I was roughly two years old.  It was increasingly becoming a struggle calling both my father & me the same name, so my mother was inspired when she was standing in line at the grocery store & saw the the name “Clarka” on the magazine rack.  The model’s name was Clarka Loschner, & she happened to grace the cover of Seventeen magazine twice in 1991.  My name has been “Clarka” ever since!  I will eventually change my name to Clarka Wickliffe (insert husband’s last name) whenever/if ever I marry…
  2. I have two dogs (Oliver – Chocolate Lab; Tucker – Bluetick Beagle), one cat (Alonzo), & one parrot (Bud – Blue-Front Amazon).
  3. My birthday is July 18, 1989, which makes me a Cancer astrological sign.  I read my horoscope daily, but I only believe it when the prediction is positive…
  4. Standing at 5’5″, I am one of the tallest in my family.  My two older sisters are 4’11”, my father was 5’2″, & my mom is 5’5″.  I always wanted to be 5’8″ for modeling purposes, but that was virtually impossible given my genetics!
  5. I lost my father to liver cancer in May 2008.  I’m still a Daddy’s girl through-and-through, & I continue to feel his guidance each day.  It is an honor to carry on his name…
  6. My hair has been short at varying lengths for about seven years.  I doubt I will ever grow it back out completely since my pixie fits my personality, but I do love trying on wigs while doing musical theatre! (Amendment made in 2016 – I’m currently trying to grow out my hair…  Let’s see how this goes!)
  7. My passion is singing!  If I could do anything in the world, then I would love to have Barbara Streisand’s career where I could sing on Broadway, act on the silver screen, & perform in my own personal concerts.
  8. My favorite movie is “Gone with the Wind.”  I didn’t have to study for my AP US History exam in high school on the Civil War because I knew the movie and book so intimately!  I also made over 100 on the exam…
  9. I maintain a well-balanced diet & exercise routine year-round.  It is a lifestyle for me, & I need the energy in order to keep up with my on-the-go schedule!  That being said, my favorite healthy snack is frozen blueberries.  I also love running, pilates, weight-lifting, & HIIT.
  10. I read at least three news outlets each night before going to sleep.  Pageantry began my love for current events, & it is a common joke amongst my friends to go to me when you have a question about world politics…
