Growing up in South Carolina, I received my fair share of a country upbringing… We learned how to line-dance in P.E. in middle school, “I Hope You Dance” by Lee Ann Womack was our graduation song, & my high school was even complete with Truck & Tractor Day! While “Country” is certainly my LEAST favorite style of music (even though I’m familiar with 99% of the songs because they play in almost every store back home), I am still extremely proud of my Southern roots… <3
I absolutely adored creating this look for any woman who wants to embrace the Western-inspired wear that has been so huge this past Fall & Winter. Everyone from Cushnie et Ochs to Alexander Wang featured models in 2014 NYFW clad in various Western motifs, & this trend is goes perfectly with jewelry from my collaboration with Charme Silkiner!
This look was pulled completely together from items within my existing closet… The beautiful python-printed skirt from White House Black Market (no longer available, but I tagged something similar below) was originally worn with a more formal look, so I enjoyed dressing it down with my jean top from Calvin Klein (complete with my thick python belt from WHBM). Every true Southern belle owns a pair of Justin’s, so I was pleased to break out my pair to complete this Country Chic look!
Side Note: One of my best friends actually wore these boots as her “something borrowed” during her wedding ceremony two year ago… <3 <3 <3 #BFF
As you will see below, this shoot was SO MUCH FUN! Don’t forget to shop the beautiful jewelry featured by Charme Silkner! South Carolinians, PLEASE take note of the middle necklace featured within this look as it is a signature piece ONLY available in SC! Ask for it by name as “Melly” Style #3720 – $120. <3
